Please reach us at if you cannot find an answer to your question.
i am currently working Monday through Wednesday 12-8 and Thursdays 10-5.
I am appointment only.
Yes, we have great wifi! I recognize that I am only open during weekdays and am very grateful that you all work within my schedule. I'm happy to keep my head down and get to business while you work on your computer. It's not rude at all to have to take calls or meetings, I just ask that we do not interrupt my work to do so. I am always happy to accommodate as best I can, I just have to remain on schedule.
Yes! I am an introvert and cherish comfortable silence. You can add your preference in the notes when you book, let me know when you arrive, or just don't talk to me! I will never be offended if you need to take space.
Tell me! I pride myself on being approachable and value that my clients feel safe to talk to me when they're unhappy. I'm not perfect, I'm human (much to the dismay of my perfectionism), and sometimes things don't turn out the way we want - but everything is always fixable! I want to know exactly what you like and don't like so that I can perfect your hair, get to know your personal style, and have you feeling like a million bucks every time you walk out the door. 99% of the time I'm the one who makes you come back so you won't have to ask me, anyway. If there's ever anything at all that you don't like (that is within the realm of possibility for that appointment), or even think you might not get used to, let me know within the first 10 days of your appointment to receive a complementary redo or adjustment.
Things happen and I totally get it! Hair is an art, not a science, and I am often behind, myself. That said, I'm also extremely busy and booked to the brim, so excessively late arrivals domino into the rest of my appointments. Please communicate with me as early as you can so that I can properly manage my schedule. I do my best to be flexible, but may have to refuse part or all of your service if you are more than 30 minutes late. If we agree on a late start, there will be a charge of $125/hour for wait time beyond the 30 minute grace period. If we cannot perform your services, it will be considered a no-show. Please see my cancellation policy for no-shows.
You are allowed to cancel or reschedule up to 48 hours before your appointment. Within the 48 hour window I will do my best to fill your appointment; if I can fill it, there is no charge. If I cannot, there will be a 50% fee. This allows both parties to absorb the impact of the cancellation. If you no show your appointment, including arrivals more than 30 minutes past the appointment time, I reserve to right to refuse service and charge a 100% no show fee. It is not personal, it's business! I have to enforce this policy indiscriminately to be fair to all of my clients. I am a tiny business and any lost income affects me directly. I do everything I can to prevent having to enforce this policy and remain fair to all parties.
CUT AND COLOR SERVICES
Advanced cuts are any styles that require perfection and precision (like a blunt bob), or extremely long/thick hair.
I do not offered gendered haircuts. My business is a place of equality and all of my haircuts are priced based on timing. I do not use clippers, I cut entirely by hand using scissor-over-comb technique which is detailed and bespoke. Often, shorter haircuts take longer as they are much less forgiving. I am happy to service any person, but the prices are the same for everyone.
EXPRESS services do not include blowdries. They mean different things for cut and color vs PuraLuxe. Please see PuraLuxe section below for that explanation.
Express haircuts are just dustings done on dry hair and are not meant to take more than an inch off or achieve any major re-shaping. This is great if your goal is to grow your hair out and you just want the dead ends trimmed.
For color, I introduced Express Services as a way to maintain your color and/or highlights in between your large appointments at more manageable price points. Express services do not include blowdries, so they’re just quick in and out services to keep you looking fresh! These are great if you’re an existing client and are looking to maintain your color. I do not recommend them for any major color changes.
Yes, but you will not receive a full blowdry. If you book an express haircut and express full head highlight, we will cut on dry hair first, then do your highlights and you would leave without a styled finish. Of course, I would dry the fringe and crown to ensure your color is perfect.
Yes! All full service options include blowdries, so it’s not necessary to book two. If you’re looking for a big change or haven’t had your color done in over 6 months, however, please reach out to me first.
Half and full head refer to areas of the head included in highlighting. A full head includes all of the hair on your head including below your occipital bone, so if you like to keep your hair lightened all over and/or your lengths from the back of your head can pull forward and fall past your collar bone in front, I recommend doing a full head once or twice a year so you don’t have Christina Aguilera hair circa 2003.
A half head does not include any hair in the back of your head below your occipital bone. This is good for chin to shoulder-length hair or maintenance in between a full head.
Choose your desired lightening service, then add EXPRESS grey coverage if you want permanent color applied in between your foils, or an EXPRESS gloss if we use demi-permanent. Grey coverage requires additional processing time, so it is not included in lightening services.
An Impact Highlight is a mini highlight HIGHLY effective in maintaining your color in between larger services OR for highlights that add POPS utilizing dimension and contrast. I recommend getting a full head highlight 1-2 times per year, and getting an impact in between to keep it looking fresh all year long! It highlights all of the areas you can see, or, the areas of the head that “make an impact”; this includes your hairline, all along your part, the top of your crown, and if you like to put your hair up we add some ponytail pops in your nape.
This is also great for very dimensional pops of color that require more internal depth on chin to shoulder length hair.
PURALUXE
For PuraLuxe, this just means you prep your hair at home and come to the salon with clean, dry hair. PuraLuxe does not require any specific shampoo to prep for the service, so the initial wash and dry can be done at home which saves significant time and therefore enables me to charge less. On the day of your appointment, you would shampoo your hair twice, do not condition, and arrive at your appointment with at least 90% dry hair. Because PuraLuxe requires a final blowdry and flat iron, you will finish this service with dry, straight hair.
No! PuraLuxe is packed with amino acids and is extremely fortifying.
When used correctly, PuraLuxe is a non-toxic, formaldehyde-free, keratin free smoothing system. As long as exteme temperatures are not used to iron the product into the hair, PuraLuxe does not emit formaldehyde. Using the recommended flat iron temperature that prevents emission of formaldhehdye is extremely effective.
No! PuraLuxe utilizes sulfuric smoothing agents that do not require any after care. You can do a full head of highlights directly after your PuraLuxe and it would not be affected at all! You can wash your hair right away, go swimming, jump in the ocean, and color your hair without worrying about your treatment. If you use professional shampoo and conditioner it will help to squeeze out a little more longevity, but aside from that, live your life!
Please plan to color your hair after the treatment. De-Frizz and lighter Straight and Smooth treatments do not affect deposited hair color; the more protein and smoothing you need, the more likely it is the treatment will shift any color you have in your hair. If you color your hair within two weeks of receiving your treatment, you must use a full level lighter than usual. The treatment does not affect the color of natural hair.
PuraLuxe is a customized service formulated specifically for your hair texture and desired results. It consists of two part: a smoothing base and protein. De-Frizz uses only the smoothing base and preserves your natural texture while eliminating frizz. This is perfect if you have curls or waves that you want to keep, or fine hair that you don't want to flatten. If you want to reduce your natural texture even a little bit, you should book Straight and Smooth. Straight and Smooth utilizes both the smoothing agent and the added protein: I add in as much or as little protein as needed to best achieve your desired results. If you have extremely coarse hair and want maximum smoothing, please choose the extra strength version.
If you have different variations of texture, for example, very curly hair in your nape and flatter waves on your crown, or if you'd like to keep volume at your root but really smooth out your mids to ends, you most likely need a variation of formulas to address different needs. This treatment is the most customizable option and allows me to formulate different strengths for different areas of the head.
PuraLuxe needs to process under an infrared lamp. De-Frizz requires 30-40 minutes under the lamp and Straight and Smooth requires 60-70 minutes. The treatment is then rinsed out completely, blowdried and flat ironed in small sections. Each section needs to be flat-iron anywhere from 8-11 times. Please bring a book or any work you need to do because you'll be hanging out with me for a while!
